GENERAL NATURE OF WORK
This is a skilled position in the Detention Center. It is a non-sworn position with no arrest powers. This position deals mainly with the operational aspect of the facility.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Communicate with the deputies via radio transmission and personally.
2. Give information to the general public via telephone in a polite and courteous manner.
3. Assure entry to police and other law enforcement agencies having business with this facility.
4. Monitor all cameras for any breach of security.
5. Opening and securing of all doors.
6. Monitor all fire safety/alarm systems.
7. Control operation of cell televisions and telephones.
8. Maintain VCR tapes and equipment in main control area.
9. Control distribution and recovery of all facility keys.
10. Keep main control area clean and squared away.
11. Be familiar with previous shift’s activities and be able to pass-on information to on-coming main control operator.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
2. Must be an American citizen.
3. Must be able to read and write the English language.
4. Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED.
5. Must successfully complete a criminal, medical history, and employment background check.
6. Must possess good communication skills.
7. Have ability to operate a base controlled radio network.
8. Must be able to function efficiently in a fast paced working environment.
