The Parks & Recreation department maintains county parks and provides recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
With its hilly topography, abundance of water, and miles of greenspace, Campbell County is the place to be for the outdoor enthusiast and adventurer. With water on three sides, it is surrounded by the most navigable waterway of any county in Kentucky. The County also offers thousands of miles in dedicated greenspace for those looking to seek adventure by land.
Parks close at dusk daily
Regular Park Season: March 1 through November 3
Ranger Station opens and day/season passes sold
Vehicle access permitted in campground areas
Camping Season: Late March through November 3
RV Campground opens last week in March

Watercraft and other rentals begin late April (sooner if weather permits)
Winter Season: November 4 – March 1
Entrance gates open during daytime hours (weather permitting)

Vehicle access permitted in Campground through November 30 and foot & bike traffic are open & encouraged after Dec 1st!

AJ Jolly Park & Campground is an award-winning, 1000 acre park that offers many outdoor activities. Everything from camping, fishing, kayaking, frisbee golf, music festivals, 20 miles of horseback riding trails, 18 holes of golf and much, much more.
The Hawthorne Crossing Conservation Area is 135 acres off of Trapp Road in Alexandria managed by the Campbell County Conservation District.
The Jolly Park CDC was formed for the support and appreciation of A.J. Jolly Park and Golf Course.
The Campbell County Fiscal Court has adopted the following Park Master Plan.
