Event Description:

Course Description:
KYEM has developed certification standards for emergency management course instructors. One requirement for instructor certification is the completion of an approved instructional methodology  course. This course fulfills that requirement. The course will cover instructor responsibilities, pre-course preparation, presentation skills, evaluating student skills and knowledge, and course documentation. This course condenses approximately 24 hours of material into a two day format, so students should be prepared to complete some pre-course reading before start of class.  Each day’s coursework will begin at 8 AM and conclude at 5 PM eastern time.

Student Prerequisites:
This course is open to all Emergency Management, Rescue, Fire, Emergency Medical, and Law Enforcement personnel or other organizations having responsibility for instruction of adults. This course is recommended for individuals with five or more years of Search and Rescue or Emergency Management experience.

Special Notes/COVID-19:
A minimum of twelve (12) student registrations is required and must be received by September 1, 2021 in order to conduct this course. Maximum registrations will be 30 students. Students may be required to wear a cloth facemask and will maintain proper social distancing as per CDC and State Guidelines. No student will be allowed to attend class if they have signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms per CDC and State Guidelines. You are considered registered for this course once this office receives your on-line application and course prerequisites. Letters acknowledging registration will not be sent. Meals, lodging, and travel arrangements/expenses are the responsibility of the student and will NOT be reimbursed by KYEM. We will be utilizing email to forward any pre-course materials to registered participants.

Registration application for the course can be completed using the following link: and click on register. Please make sure that all the information on your registration is spelled correctly. This is what will appear on your certificate of completion and all other course related documents. Students will be notified if the course is cancelled. For this reason, it is imperative that you provide accurate contact information.
