Course Description:
KYEM has developed certification standards for emergency management course instructors. One requirement for instructor certification is the completion of an approved instructional methodology course. This course fulfills that requirement. The course will cover instructor responsibilities, pre-course preparation, presentation skills, evaluating student skills and knowledge, and course documentation. This course condenses approximately 24 hours of material into a two day format, so students should be prepared to complete some pre-course reading before start of class. Each day’s coursework will begin at 8 AM and conclude at 5 PM eastern time.
Student Prerequisites:
This course is open to all Emergency Management, Rescue, Fire, Emergency Medical, and Law Enforcement personnel or other organizations having responsibility for instruction of adults. This course is recommended for individuals with five or more years of Search and Rescue or Emergency Management experience.
Special Notes/COVID-19:

No student will be allowed to attend class if they have signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms per CDC and State Guidelines. You are considered registered for this course once this office receives your on-line application and course prerequisites. Letters acknowledging registration will not be sent.
