COURSE TITLE: Rapid Needs Assessment G-557
This course is a requirement for the APS and CKEM Certificate.
DATE: February 16, 2024
LOCATION: Campbell County Fire Training Center

Highland Heights, KY
TIME: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides information and resources that will enable participants to plan an
effective Damage Assessment Program and conduct rapid and effective damage
assessments in order to save lives, protect property and the environment, and begin the
process of Recovery and Mitigation.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the students should be able to:
Describe the Need and Purpose of a Rapid Needs Assessment.
Describe the starting point for planning for a Rapid Needs Assessment.
Describe the process for staffing a rapid needs assessment.
Describe the basic tools required to support the rapid needs assessment process.
Describe the importance of planning data collection.
Describe the importance of redundant data transmission systems and means.
Describe the importance of analyzing and reviewing data.
Describe additional data sources available to support analysis.
Describe the training requirements for the rapid need’s assessment program.
Describe how rapid needs assessment plans and. actions can be exercised in the Community

This training will include instruction on Kentucky Emergency Management Agency’s Damage Assessment Tool. Which includes how to download the Survey 123 Damage Assessment Survey and how to properly use the Damage Assessment Tool.,
PARTICIPANT CRITERIA: The intended audience is local officials who are responsible for assessing, collecting, and reporting damages during and after any event that causes damage of private, public, and critical infrastructure.

This Course is sponsored by the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management and the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Course enrollment maximum is 30 participants.
2) There are no course fees.
3) Participants will need access to a laptop or mobile device/tablet during the course in order to use Survey 1-2-3.
4) Pre-registration is required by February 12th, 2024
