COURSE TITLE: Crisis Management Affecting Institutions of Higher Education: A Collaborative (MGT-361)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Is your campus prepared?
This advanced two-day course is designed to train higher education administrators, public safety officials, and community partners in crisis management principles using a whole community approach.
Participants will explore risk management strategies, effective crisis communications, and emergency operations planning concepts as outlined in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The course integrates case studies, facilitated discussions, and practical exercises to help participants identify gaps in their current crisis management programs. The training culminates in a simulated role-play exercise designed to test response coordination and decision-making under pressure.

PARTICIPANT CRITERIA:
• Participants must be U.S. citizens.
• A FEMA Student Identification (SID) is required to register.
    o Obtain or verify your FEMA SID at https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid.
    o TEEX staff can assist with SID creation upon arrival.
• Prior attendance approval from the host jurisdiction may be required.

None. This course is open to all eligible participants.

This course is sponsored by the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management, Kenton County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security, Thomas More University, Northern Kentucky University, Gateway Community and Technical College, and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.
Delivered by the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC), Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC).
