Course Description
The Kentucky Division of Emergency Management (KYEM) Recovery Branch is proud to announce the implementation of the Individuals and Households Assistance Program Course. This course will enable attendees to understand disaster-related assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for impacted citizens.
This course covers the foundational concepts and latest guidance of the IA Program. The KYEM IA Section is Kentucky’s liaison with FEMA in matters concerning the implementation and coordination of this program which provides aid to individuals and families affected by a declared disaster event.
Class will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. EST and will end at 4:00 p.m. EST.
Student Criteria
This course will be of special interest to those who are involved in community disaster recovery, including but not limited to: local elected officials, city and county managers, community planners, local emergency management officials, and local long term recovery committee members. There is no prerequisite for this course.
Special Notes
A MINIMUM OF 20 advance student registrations is REQUIRED and must be received by June 7, 2024. A MAXIMUM OF 40 will be accepted. An applicant is considered accepted as a student upon receipt of the application by KYEM. Acceptance letters will not be sent. Any associated expenses will NOT be reimbursed by KYEM.
