Note that Campbell County Animal Services does not provide Animal Control for the cities of Alexandria and Newport. For Animal Control issues within those cities, please contact their respective agencies.
Animal Control will respond to calls in Bellevue, Cold Spring, Dayton, Fort Thomas, Highland Heights, Melbourne, Silver Grove, Southgate, and unincorporated Campbell County during business hours and can be reached by calling 859-635-2819. Regular business hours for Animal Services are Monday through Friday from 10AM to 4:30PM and Saturdays from 9AM to 1:30PM. After business hours, residents with an emergency should call Campbell County Consolidated Dispatch by dialing 859-292-3622. Dispatch will refer emergency calls to an Animal Control Officer.
Examples of an after-hours emergency could be:
- An injured domestic animal
- A bite case involving a stray animal when the owner is not able to be located
- An arrest when there is an animal in the vehicle
- A medical emergency when an owner has to be hospitalized and the pet is with them outside the home
Animals running at large or stray pick ups do not qualify as an after-hours emergency. Non-emergency calls will be handled on the next business day.
