The Campbell County Police Department maintains an open hiring process for: Recruit Police Officers, Lateral Police Officers, School Resource Officers, Police Social Workers, and Administrative Positions. Interest Forms are accepted year-round.
For all positions, please complete the CCPD electronic interest form and save as a .pdf document, submitting as described on the interest form. You will thereafter be notified of next phases in any process.
Recruit Police Officer: Persons interested in recruit positions must have a High School Diploma or GED and must be 20 years of age.
Lateral Police Officer: Lateral candidates must possess or be able to obtain certification by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. Candidates with police service in states other than the Commonwealth may be considered for lateral entry, provided they meet the Basic Training requirements as set forth by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
School Resource Officer (SRO): Candidates must be Kentucky certified police officers who are retirees of the Kentucky Retirement System. Applicants will be required to go through a KLEC compliant background investigation and required training courses.
Police Social Worker (PSW): Applicants for PSW must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other social science related field supplemented with 3 years’ experience in the area of social science. Or, Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other social science related field with 2 years’ experience in the area of social science. Or, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
