Current Police Employment Opportunities:

The Campbell County Police Department accepts both Lateral (certified police officers) and Recruit Police Officer applications year round.

All candidates must meet all requirements established under by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council to include, being 21 years of age by date of appointment (proof being made by providing a copy of one’s birth certificate); former military personnel cannot have been discharged for bad conduct (proof may being made by providing a copy of one’s DD Form 214.

Recruit Police Officer: Persons having an interest in being a police recruit should complete and submit an application.  Applications will be kept on file and you will be notified of upcoming testing dates.  Testing, and the establishment of the hiring eligibility, typically occurs every two years.

Lateral Police Officer requirements: Lateral candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience as a police officer, presently employed in a law enforcement position, or have served in a law enforcement position within the past twelve months. Candidates with police service established in states other than the Commonwealth may be considered for lateral entry, provided they meet the Basic Training requirements as set forth by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
