DESCRIPTION:   COURSE DESCRIPTION:\n   An Incident Commander’s (IC) mission
  is to ensure that incidents are\n   managed as effectively and safely as 
 possible. Complex incidents are\n   particularly challenging to manage bec
 ause they often evolve rapidly\,\n   involve significant hazards\, and/or 
 require innovative solutions.\n   Complex incidents require a response fro
 m multiple\n   jurisdictions/agencies\, each of which may have a unique pe
 rspective\n   when arriving on-scene. To effectively manage these incident
 s\, the\n   diverse response partners must act collaboratively\, and this 
 requires\n   ICs to rapidly bring their differing response priorities\, ob
 jectives\,\n   and strategies into alignment. This course discusses how to
  overcome\n   the unique challenges that complex incidents present. Topics
  include\n   the need to rapidly recognize the incident’s magnitude and co
 operate\n   with other commanders\, strategies\n   for promoting interdisc
 iplinary collaboration before an incident\n   occurs\, strategies for deco
 nflicting competing priorities\, how and\n   when to establish a unified c
 ommand\, and how and when to transfer\n   command. This course is 16 hours

      \n   PERQUISITE:\n   Participants should work in a supervisory or man
 agerial capacity and\n   must have completed FEMA’s IS-700.b\, IS-100.c\, 
 ICS 200.c\, ICS-300 and\n   ICS-400. Certificates for these courses must b
